TriGemX Bio, formerly Kallyope, has closed a $94 million financing to advance elismetrep, its investigational oral treatment for acute migraine. The Column Group, TCGX and Viking Global Investors co-led the round.
The 1 October announcement also introduced Jeff Goater as chief executive and Aninda Katragadda as chief financial officer. The first pivotal trial and a long-term safety study are underway; another pivotal study is scheduled to begin in October. Initial Phase III results are expected in mid-2027.
Elismetrep blocks the TRPM8 channel, offering a different biological approach from existing migraine medicines. It remains investigational, with no regulatory approval.
The financing is a new development distinct from Kallyope's previously reported obesity transaction. It gives the refocused business resources for a defined late-stage programme. A differentiated target can justify clinical exploration, but it does not itself establish a differentiated treatment. The pivotal studies must show reliable symptom relief and an acceptable safety profile before commercial positioning can move beyond a mechanistic argument.
