Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) strengthens Tremfya’s long-term Crohn’s evidence
New follow-up supports durability, but the headline remission rate excludes patients missing from the analysis.

Johnson & Johnson published new Tremfya results at UEG Week, including three-year follow-up from the GALAXI Crohn’s disease programme. In the 100 mg every-eight-weeks group, 172 of 183 assessed patients were in clinical remission at week 144.
That 94% figure is an as-observed result. It does not describe everyone originally randomised: patients who discontinued, lacked the relevant data or underwent dose adjustment were excluded from this analysis. Across both maintenance groups, 432 of 582 patients remained on treatment through three years.
The company also reported week-48 findings from FUZION in Crohn’s disease with perianal fistula. Combined fistula remission reached 35% in the group initially assigned to 100 mg every eight weeks, including patients whose dose was subsequently adjusted.
The commercial significance lies in durability and evidence for a difficult complication, both relevant to treatment selection. The results should not be turned into a claim that 94% of all treated patients achieve long-term remission, or compared directly with competitors’ differently designed studies.
