Odyssey Therapeutics reported completed induction results from its Phase 2a study of OD-001, an oral RIPK2 scaffolding inhibitor for ulcerative colitis. The analysis included 56 efficacy-evaluable patients and linked clinical changes with inflammatory biomarkers, tissue gene-expression patterns and histological disease activity.
At week 12, clinical remission was reported in 27% of the pooled 20 mg twice-daily group, comprising 41 patients, and 20% of the 15 patients receiving 10 mg twice daily. These small early-study groups provide development evidence rather than a definitive estimate of comparative efficacy.
Odyssey plans a randomised, placebo-controlled Phase 2b monotherapy trial and a separate controlled study combining OD-001 with vedolizumab. Induction results from those programmes are expected in the second half of 2027.
The commercial thesis is an oral medicine suitable for use alone or in combinations. The latest analysis strengthens the biological rationale, but the next studies must establish how much benefit the drug adds against appropriate controls and whether that benefit persists.
