Mineralys Therapeutics has announced five presentations for the American Heart Association's Hypertension Scientific Sessions, taking place from 7 to 11 October. The programme includes an oral presentation on Explore-OSA, a Phase II study of lorundrostat in adults with obstructive sleep apnoea and hypertension.
The randomised crossover study compares lorundrostat with placebo and evaluates change in the apnoea-hypopnoea index after four weeks of active treatment. The company's announcement also lists analyses from its hypertension programme and supporting research.
The planned disclosure could help clarify whether the development opportunity extends beyond blood-pressure control. Patients with overlapping conditions may offer a clinically coherent population, but overlapping diseases do not guarantee that one intervention will improve both.
No new numerical Explore-OSA result is established by the presentation announcement. The relevant questions for the forthcoming data include the size and consistency of the effect, tolerability and the implications of a short treatment period. Any broader commercial thesis should follow those results rather than precede them.
