Cullinan Therapeutics has announced the start of an FDA application submission for zipalertinib plus platinum-based chemotherapy in previously untreated advanced lung cancer carrying EGFR exon 20 insertion mutations.
The submission is proceeding under the Real-Time Oncology Review programme, which allows clinical information to reach reviewers before the entire application is complete. Cullinan expects to finish the submission by the end of 2026.
The filing draws on the Phase III REZILIENT3 study. This development is separate from the earlier disclosure of the trial results and from the ongoing application for zipalertinib monotherapy after previous chemotherapy. Cullinan is eligible for a $100 million milestone upon first-line US approval and $30 million upon second-line approval.
The immediate significance is procedural and financial: the programme has begun moving evidence into a formal regulatory pathway. Submission initiation is neither acceptance of a completed application nor approval. The potential milestones therefore remain contingent, and the investigational medicine has not yet secured a marketing authorisation.
