CorMedix (CRMD) secures priority review for Rezzayo prevention indication

CorMedix announced that the FDA accepted a supplemental application for Rezzayo to prevent invasive fungal disease and granted priority review. The target action date falls in the first quarter of 2027. Development partner Mundipharma submitted the application.
The filing is supported by the Phase 3 ReSPECT study, which evaluated once-weekly rezafungin against a standard antimicrobial regimen in adults undergoing allogeneic stem-cell transplantation. The current review concerns prevention, a distinct use from the medicine’s existing treatment indication.
CorMedix is targeting promotional activity for the proposed indication in the second half of 2027, subject to approval. That timing matters when assessing near-term expectations: an FDA decision and the start of a commercial campaign need not coincide.
The potential expansion could deepen the company’s hospital-infection business, but priority review is a timetable designation rather than a positive approval decision. The next substantive milestone is the FDA’s assessment of the submitted evidence and proposed label. Until then, prophylaxis remains an investigational use for Rezzayo in the United States.
